Welcome to the FRA

The Flat Roofing Alliance (FRA) is the recognised trade association for the flat roofing industry.
Your Flat Roof is our business, because if properly-specified and competently installed, a flat roof should provide decades of good service.

The FRA was formed in 1997 from the merger of two long-established bodies, the Flat Roofing Contractors' Advisory Board, and the Association of British Roofing Felt Manufacturers.

Today, the FRA is concerned with all types of bituminous flat roofing except mastic asphalt, supporting the interests of hundreds of companies throughout the UK. Our motto is "Excellence in Flat Roofing".

What we are

The Members:
The membership consists of the UK’s major contractors and smaller specialists involved with flat roofing combined with the leading UK Manufacturers, plus many Product Suppliers and Affiliate members. It is thus supported by UK Contractors, Manufacturers and others supplying materials to the industry.

The Involvement:
As the recognised, leading trade association for flat roofing, the Flat Roofing Alliance is regularly consulted by professional, educational and official bodies on a variety of related subjects, including Health and Safety and training. The FRA holds secretariats for four of the British Standards Institute Technical Committees, where it is involved in the preparation of relevant standards and Codes of Practice, and has representation on many others, including European equivalents.
